The authorities of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL) today Thursday administered oath of allegiance on 6,072 new students admitted for the 2023/2024 academic session with a charge to shun social vices, drug abuse and cultism
While administering matriculation oath on the new students on the Vice Chancellor of the University, Profession Abu Kasim Adamu further cautioned the students on the need to abide by the rules and regulations of the university
” You should be committed to your studies and shun any kind of negative social vices like drug abuse, cultism, sexual harassment and exam malpractices”, he said
The Vice Chancellor however, counselled the students engage themselves in all activities that would profit them academically in the Institution and in life.
“I want to assure you that Management is determined to providing better welfare package for students and staff”.
He enumerated some achievements of the management to include accreditation and taken off of collage of health sciences and the construction of hostels to accommodate over 300 students.
The Vice-Chancellor applauded the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago for the ongoing construction of the IBBUL University Teaching Hospital in Minna among others.
The Niger State Governor, who is also the Visitor of the University, Mohammed Umaru Bago represented by the state commissioner of Tertiary Education, Abdullahi Adamu Mamagi said that the administration will continue to prioritize education, adding that Government has commenced payment of scholarship to state indigenes to encourage excellence”.
He assured of speedy completion of the IBBUL University Teaching Hospital Minna which he explained would strengthened the University to attain global standard.
