As Nasarawa State PDP celebrate the home coming of their 2023 embattled guber candidate, Dr. David Umbugadu, 13, 000 rural dwellers from across the 13 LGAs are to benefit from the free NHIS enrollment programme.

Dr. Emmanuel David Ombugadu, break the cheering news of the free enrollment programme of the 13,000 rural people into National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) programme from across the 13 local government areas of the state while speaking at a reception held in his honour in Akwanga.

Umbugadu disclosed this during a home coming and Thanksgiving rally held in his Honour by his party the PDP at his residence, Unity House, in Akwanga, Nasarawa State.

While presenting an Access Bank Cheque to cover the cost of registration worth N195 Million, he explained that the initiative is aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of the people of Nasarawa state, especially that at the rural communities who may not be able to access quality health care services due low economy, stressing that he would continue to accord priority attention to their health care whether in government or not.

“Whether in government or not, I will continue to support healthcare, other initiatives through private participation in my own little way of giving back to the people” he said.

“Healthcare accessibility and support for the well-being of the less privileged persons across the 13 local government of the state will remain my priority. I’m pleased to announce that a cheque of N195 million for a health insurance initiative is here with me and I am going to do a symbolic presentation to NHIS”, the 2023 embattled PDP guber candidate declared.

“I want to use this occasion to expressed gratitude to the people of Nasarawa State for their unwavering support during and after the election up to the Supreme Court. The commitment of my supporters and the challenges encountered during the electoral contest is what I will not forget in a hurry”

“My returning home today is to thank my people for the support showed to me during and after the governorship election. My desire, dream and dedication to seeing that Nasarawa State of our dream comes to fruition remains my focus must as I remain steadfast to pursue transformative change and progress within Nasarawa and the country”.

The Director General of the Ombugadu Campaign Council and former Minister of information, Labaran Maku expressed his firm belief in the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) saying electoral triumph in the 2023 gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State is left in the care of God.

“Everybody knows we won the election, but the unity, peace and progress of the state remain our established factor among stakeholders in Nasarawa state affirming the legitimacy of the party in the state”, Maku declared.

“Upon all the money and government might that was deployed to Nasarawa State, PDP still won the election in the last governorship. Check the INEC IREV and tabulate results, we won the election” Maku insisted.

He acknowledged the pivotal role played by Senator Walid Jibrin, as an elder statesman and former Chairman of the PDP’s Board of Trustees, in rallying support for the party’s victory in the last elections.

Maku lauded the steadfastness and courage displayed by PDP women of Nasarawa State as he commended their unwavering commitment to the electoral process, despite facing intimidation, saying the “Women were not afraid of soldiers, police, and whoever”.

The PDP chairman, Hon. Francis Orogu reiterated the party’s gratitude to supporters and underscored their unwavering belief in Ombugadu’s electoral victory, saying: “The people now know that Ombugadu won the election, but the judiciary stripped him of his legitimate mandate freely given to him by the people of Nasarawa State.”
