Women Group, Standup for Women Society, has lauded Mrs Helen Mutfwang, Wife of the Plateau State Governor, for her continuous support to policies and programmes geared towards Women in the State.
Plateau State Chairman of the Society Grace Gorah made the commendation while speaking at a special session organized to mark this year’s International Women’s Day Celebration held at the Jos Campus of the Plateau State Polytechnic.
The event organized by the Society Plateau State Chapter in collaboration with Mangu Women Mediators and Sow a Seed for Girl Child Development Initiative with a theme,”Gender Equality,Migrant and Refuge Women Economic Empowerment saw the empowerment of over twenty women drawn from the seventeen local government areas of the State.
Making a cash donation to the women as part of its empowerment project,the State Chairperson of the association, Grace Gora said the intervention is made possible with the support of the Wife of the Governor,Helen Mutfwang.
She added that the major focus of the association is to empower women especially, those at the grassroot.
The Chairperson explained that the association will continue to be voice for the voiceless Women in Society.
North Central Zonal Vice Chairman of the association,Ladi Emmanuel encouraged women join the group to the Association in view of its benefits.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Standup for Women Society for the empowerment.
They explained that the intervention will go along way to assist their families.
