Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has approved the appointment of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, the Emir of Dass, as Bauchi State Amirul Hajj for the 2023 Hajj.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Ibrahim Mohammed Kashim, who conveyed Bala’s appointment, said the appointment takes immediate effect, along with 13 other prominent citizens of the state.

The letter stated that their appointment was based on their devotion, exemplary dedication, discipline and divine service to Almighty Allah with a view to oversee the smooth coordination and facilitation of pilgrims from Bauchi State during the holy pilgrimage.

Governor Muhammad expressed confidence in the capabilities of the appointed team, emphasizing their capacity to uphold the highest standards of service delivery and professionalism throughout the Hajj exercise.

He reiterated the state government’s keen interest to supporting pilgrims and ensuring their welfare throughout the journey.

The thirteen other members are, Hon. Jamilu Umaru Dahiru, Bauchi State Deputy Speaker as well as Deputy Amirul Hajj, Hon. Justice Rabi Talatu Umar (Chief Judge of Bauchi State) Khadi Umar Ahmed Liman State Grand Khadi, Hon.Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza, Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Jalam Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Others are Ibrahim Y.M. Baba, Surv. Ibrahim Saidu Jahun Galadiman Bauchi, Yayanuwa Zainabari and Sheikh Zubairu A. Madaki.

Also in the team includes Sheikh Salisu Sulaiman Ningi, Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi and Mallam Ahmad Inuwa Na’ibi while Muhammad Haruna Barde serves as Secretary of the team.

According to the SSG, the team will work in collaboration with relevant authorities, such as the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Saudi Arabian Government to ensure hitch free and successful hajj operation.

Governor Muhammad urged the appointed team leader and Members to discharge their duties diligently with utmost sincerity, and in accordance with the principles of fairness, equity, and justice
