The Governing Board of the National Defence College (NDC) has honoured Governor Babagana Zulum, of Borno state with the Excellence and Service to the Nation award.
The award was presented on Wednesday at the NDC’s Course 32 Dinner/ Awards Night held at the National Defence College’s headquarters in Abuja.
Borno’s Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, represented Governor, Babagana Zulum, and received the Award on his behalf.
Speaking at the occasion, the Commandant of the college, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu, noted that the award was in recognition of Gov. Zulum’s contribution to knowledge transfer, commitment to the fight against insurgency, and nation-building in Nigeria.
Many dignitaries attended the event, including the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, represented by Senator Gbenga Daniels.
The NDC’s Governing board comprises the Minister of Defence as chairman, the Defence, Army, Navy and Air Chiefs and the Commandant of the National Defence College. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence is the Secretary of the Board
