The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, has asked the Muslim Ummah and the entire citizenry to pray to seek relief from Allah amidst the present economic hardships and as well as for the peace, development, and prosperity of Nigeria at large.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya also rallied the people of the state towards collective prayer, unity and resilience amidst prevailing economic challenges, assuring that the current difficulties are transient and that better days lie ahead.

The Governor was speaking during the closing of Ramadan Tafsir at the Government House Mosque earlier yesterday Monday. The session was led by the Mosque’s Chief Imam, Sheikh Zakariyya Ajiya.

He further urged the faithful to remain steadfast in their devotion and to channel their energies towards productive ventures, particularly as the rainy season approaches.

While emphasizing the importance of agriculture in fostering economic growth and food security, the Governor encouraged citizens to seize opportunities in farming; expressing confidence in the resilience of the people.

The Governor commended both the presiding cleric, Sheikh Ajiya and the congregation for their commitment to spiritual enrichment and cohesion of the Ummah.

He also used the occasion to acknowledge the generosity of affluent individuals in the society who have demonstrated empathy by extending support to the less privileged, emphasizing the importance of compassion and solidarity, particularly during times of hardship.

He noted that such gesture resonates with the essence of Ramadan, which encourages giving back and caring for those in need.

The Governor also prayed for a joyous Eid al-Fitr celebration in advance as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe.
