The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has joined the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, on a significant two-day visit to Sweden.

In a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs Gyang Bere, said the high-profile delegation, which includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, heads of key government agencies, and parastatals, departed Abuja on Thursday to represent Nigeria in a series of bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.

The visit which is being undertaken on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, focuses on high-level discussions with prominent Swedish officials, including Crown Princess Victoria and the Prime Minister of Sweden.

The bilateral talks aims to strengthen cooperation in several key sectors, including information and communications technology (ICT), innovation, education, digitalization, sustainable transport, mining, and agriculture.

Vice President Shettima and Governor Mutfwang participated in a technical session with “Team Sweden,” which consists of various entities engaged in partnerships with Nigeria. The session highlighted investment opportunities in health, education, the digital economy, and sustainable transportation, with the goal of fostering mutual growth and development.

The visit provided a platform for strategic discussions with influential stakeholders in both the public and private sectors, setting the stage for future collaborations that could drive Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
