Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has reiterated determination of his administration to provide another road map geared towards meeting up with the numerous demands of the people of the State.

The Governor made this pledge in his respective speeches during ground breaking ceremonies for the construction of 17 Township roads in Bauchi, the State Capital and rural roads totaling 118.4 kilometres, that will connect various agrarian communities in Five Local Government Areas of the State.

The projects include a 38 Kilometers access road from Bara – Hashidu – Tabule – Garin Malam Julde to Wanka in kirfi LGA, rehabilitation of 19 kilometers linking Alkaleri – Kirfi LGAs.

Others are construction 3.7 kilometers of Eight Alkaleri Township roads, 2.85 kilometres dualisation in Duguri Town, construction of 1.85 kilometer Gajin Duguri bypass, design and construction of 8.53 kilometers of Eight Township roads in Dass Town.

Others are 12.50 kilometers linking Baraza- Bagas – Dur – Dado in Dass LGA, 2.10 kilometer Rimin Zayam Township road , 3.10 kilometers Nabordo bypass in Toro LGA and 26.42km of Seventeen roads in Bauchi Capital City.

Bala Muhammad said his administration has made a significant progress in the provision of people oriented, demand driven projects, saying that the infrastructures positively affect the lives and welfare of the good people of Bauchi state.

He also reiterated that his administration will continue to place high premium on roads with a view to address transportation challenges in both urban and in rural communities.

According to the Governor, the gesture would alleviate suffering of rural communities, attract investors and accelerate socio economic growth of Bauchi State.

He noted that his administration within the ambits of relevant laws, selected competent contractors for these projects.
He commended the contractor, The Triacta Nigeria Limited for their commitment to delivering quality work and assured the communities that his administration would monitor the project’s progress to ensure timely completion

He also urged benefiting communities to cooperate with the contractors to deliver not only quality project but within a schedule time frame.

In his opening remarks, the Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Transport, Alh Ibrahim Gambo Galadima expressed readiness of his Ministry to ensure closed monitoring and supervision of the projects by the team of Engineers.

The Commissioner stressed that the Ministry would maintain synergy with the construction firms to ensure quality work.
In thankful note, The Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu opined that project will have a positive impact on the local economy, with farmers and traders able to transport their goods more easily, and residents having better access to social services.

The flagging-off ceremony was attended by local government officials, traditional leaders, and community members, who expressed their gratitude to the governor for his commitment to rural development
