Niger State was on Tuesday afternoon thrown into mourning following the death of the wife of the state Deputy Governor Hajiya Aisha Garba
Krestnews reports that the sad news filtered into the Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago after attending official function at NYSC camp in Paiko town which the Deputy Governor also attended.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago expressed sadness over the death of the wife of his Deputy, Hajiya Zainab Garba.
The Governor, in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the death of the wife of the Deputy Governor as a great loss to the state.
“It is indeed devastating news and a trying moment not only for Deputy Governor but for the government and the entire people of the State”.
While commiserating with his Deputy over the loss, the Governor encouraged him to see the demise of his wife as an act of Allah, and be consoled by the fact that the deceased lived a good life.
Also in a condolence message, the Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman commiserated with the Deputy Governor of the State, Comrade Yakubu Garba over the death of his wife, Hajiya Zainab Yakubu Garba.
He described Hajiya Zainab’s death as “a great loss not only to the family of the Deputy Governor but Niger State in general, given her invaluable contributions to the cause of humanity.
“We should be consoled by the fact that late Hajiya Zainab Yakubu Garba lived a fulfilling life, having impacted positively on the people that came in contact with her during her lifetime”.
Also in his condolence message, the Niger State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. Abdulmalik Mohammad Sarkin Daji, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba over the death of his wife, describing the loss as not only to the family but to the state at large.
He equally sympathized with the People of Minna Emirate over the loss, adding that the deceased was a humble and virtuous woman who lived a life worthy of emulation, urging all to accept the loss as the will of Allah.
