The Acting Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe has enjoined Christians in the State join to celebrate Christmas reflective of the ideals of the celebration which, he said is symbolised in peace, love and joy.

He said these virtues are what characterised Jesus Christ who humbled himself to be born in a manger and went through the psons of death to save the world from the penalty of their sins.

Dr. Akabe said is incumbent on believers to demonstrate these acts of selflessness among themselves and with people of other faiths with whom ghe share offices, Quarters or other residential environments.

The Acting While urging them to joyous in their celebration, tasked them on the need to pray for the President and the Stste.Governor whom he said are working hard through their various reforms to reposition the country and state on the path of economic recovery

He urged them to be tolerant of people of other faith, saying “We need each to be able to push our country and state forward in a trial moment which the country is going through”.

He reminded them to supportive of government to enable it pull through the current economic downturn, adding that the President and the Governor are doing their utmost best to overcome challenges of insecurity and economy.

Dr. Akabe also call on Christians to be security conscious and very acts that could portrayed the essence of celebration in bad light, especially being engaged in unholy acts such fighting, drunkeness and sexual immortality and drugs.

He used the moment to condole Oyo, FCT and Anambra States over the various incidents that occurred which led to the death of several people including children.

We should in our sober reflection, remember and pray for the souls that were lost in the stampede in Ibadan, Okija,and FCT, following the sharing of Christmas palliatives. We commiserate with Government and people of Oyo State, Anambra State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). May their souls and souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

While calling on road users to exercise care, the Acting Governor, Dr. Akabe, appeal to Road Safety Corps in the state to step up their surveillance to ensure safer roads at yuletide. (www.krestnews.com).
