Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, yesterday led a delegation of dignitaries including Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the reception of Senator Lawan as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

 The reception which took place on Monday at A-Class Event Centre, Wuse 2, Abuja, had in attendance many dignitaries especially fellow politicians.

The Governor praised Senator Lawal’s dedication and hard work adding that the conferment of the SAN title on Senator Kaka Shehu Lawal marks a significant milestone in his distinguished career.

The governor added that, “It’s no surprise he’s reached the pinnacle of his career, ” while making his remarks at the reception.

Zulum highlighted their shared experiences as commissioners under Senator Kashim Shettima’s governorship where he described Lawal’s performance as “second to none.”

Governor Zulum further urged Lawal to “look inward and train more people from Borno State to become SANs” in order to develope local talents and promote legal excellence in Borno State, assuring that. “As Governor, I’ll create an enabling environment for this to happen”.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio described Lawal as “a good ambassador, a seasoned legal practitioner, a detribalised Nigerian, an advocate of the masses, and a dependable ally.” Akpabio praised Lawal’s impressive National Assembly tenure.

The event drew top Borno dignitaries including Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno and Senator Abubakar Kyari, ministers of agriculture and food security; Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori, national vice chairman, north, of the All Progressive Congress (APC); and Hon. Ayuba Bello, Borno State APC chairman.

The Governor expressed gratitude to all attendees including senators, House of Representatives members and ministers, Borno State chief judge, Justice Kashim Zannah, and Barrister Huwa Abubakar, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Borno State, Barr. Mustapha Ali Busuguma (PPS), the speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, led the members at the occasion.
