Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has sworn in new members of the Plateau State independent electoral commission PLASIEC with a charge on them to ensure the conduct of credible local government elections in the state.
Governor Mutfwang gave the charge while inaugurating the chairman and members of the Commission on Monday, June 10 at Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
The Governor emphasized the importance of allowing the state to function in a federal system and encouraged the commission to rise to the occasion and set modalities for credible elections.
He denied allegations of misusing local government funds and explained that the previous PLASIEC members were dissolved due to illegal constitution and a court judgment.
The Governor however congratulated the new members and encouraged them to write their names in gold by doing their best by ensuring credible polls.
The Chairman of PLASIEC, Plangji Cishak, promised to conduct a local government election that will be accepted by all.
Krestnews reports that other members are: Theresa Kaze, Deborah Akanle, Ado Adere, Waziri Kwande, Audu Dorzhi, and Langman Pensiwan. While Pam Davou is to serve as Secretary.
