The Member representing Kokona, Keffi and Karu Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Gaza Gbewfi, has presented medical testing equipment to the Aren Eggon, His Royal Highness Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku, as part of his ongoing healthcare intervention across the state.

The donation—comprising blood sugar and blood pressure testing kits—was made during a courtesy visit to the monarch’s palace in Nasarawa Eggon, where Hon. Gaza also monitored the free multi-million-naira Medical Outreach currently underway.

Hon. Gaza, who is the sponsor of the outreach being carried out by the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Keffi in partnership with JEGI Paramount Multilinks Ltd, emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare, noting that many avoidable deaths stem from negligence or late medical attention.

He encouraged residents of Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga and Wamba to take advantage of the free services, which include screening, consultations, deliveries, minor surgeries, malaria testing, medicated eyeglasses, and health counselling.

According to him, the outreach has already been conducted in Doma, which flagged off the programme on Monday, December 8, 2025, with an impressive turnout. While the exercise continues in Nasarawa Eggon, teams are also on ground in Akwanga and Wamba. The Keffi zone is scheduled to begin on Thursday through Saturday.

Team Lead, Dr. Philip James Allu, commended the turnout in Nasarawa Eggon, noting that the medical team had attended to cases of hernia, lipomas, malaria, glaucoma and other conditions. He assured that the personnel deployed are adequate to handle the high number of patients.

Speaking on behalf of the Aren Eggon, the District Head of Nasarawa Eggon, Mallam Sulaiman Dogo Andah, applauded Hon. Gaza’s commitment to the welfare of the Eggon people, describing him as “a true lover of the Eggon Nation.” He expressed gratitude for both the outreach and the health kits donated to the monarch.

Beneficiaries such as Mrs. Fatima Usman, Mr. Ishaya Philip, Mr. Umbugala, and Mrs. Esther Ali expressed satisfaction with the medical services, praising Hon. Gaza for providing drugs, consultations, and medicated eye glasses. They also wished him success in his 2027 governorship bid under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Hon. Gaza, accompanied by state party officials, later departed Nasarawa Eggon to inspect the outreach centres in Akwanga and Wamba.
Meanwhile, the programme will be extended to Nasarawa West Senatorial District on Thursday with visits to Nasarawa and Toto LGAs.
