In what can be.describes as.North Central Derby, Nasarawa United Football Club Saturday ended thier losing streak with a 1-0 win over their closest rivals Lobi Stars of Makurdi.

The match played at the Lafia Township Stadium during the week 16th clash of the Nigerian Professional league saw the United boys picking the 3 points through the only goal scored in the match by Qamal Adegoke in the 12th minutes of the encounter.

The win saw the Home boys, United breaking the jinx having suffered three losses, one home match and two away matches respectively.

Speaking at a post match interview, the Technical Coach of Nasarawa United Football Club, Coach Kabir Dogo, expressed excitement over the outcome, while prasing the team and fans for for their resilence.

” I am happy that my boys returned to winning ways after three defeats, I thanked the entire Nasarawa State Fans for their support and resilience despite the team poor performances in the recent games” he said.

He explained that with what the boys displayed during, he believes they will come up much better, if they remained committed to one or two tactics the technical crew are dishing out to them .”

“As far as today game is concerned, both teams tried their best. If the two teams sustain this level of performances, they will come out of the positions they currently occupied in the league . I can assure you that there is improvement on both side”.

It is worthy of note that Lobi Stars of Markudi are currently sharing the Lafia City Stadium with Nasarawa United due to the renovation of their home stadium in Makurdi, this development had made the Saturday encounter lived up to fiercest derby as fans of terms needed a pounds of flesh from their opponents and that reflected in the field of play.

Qamar Adegoke, the scorer expressed satisfaction over the game, saying he felt excited to have scored another goal for his team. Adegoke scored his second goal for Nasarawa United in less than five matches since joining the club from his former team.

In my former team, they referred to me as the ‘Oba goal’ meaning a goal scorer. So therefore, I promise to score more goals for the team and hopefully, we will play Continental by the grace of God Adegoke stated.

The latest signing for Solid miners had previously played for Spanish clubs such as Zamora and Sk Blanes.
