The Senator representing Bauchi south senatorial district at the Senate , Senator Shehu Umar Buba has expressed sorrow over the recent flood that ravaged parts of Borno State, particularly Maiduguri and others.
Senator Shehu Buba who is the current Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence while responding to the flood which ravaged Maiduguri metropolis, donated the sum of N50 million as support to the victims.
He made the donation today Thursday, when he visited Maiduguri to commiserate with the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and the people of the State.
The Bauchi South Senatorial District Senator, Buba, was accompanied by the leadership and Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress in Bauchi that included State Chairman of APC Muhammad Lawal Tilde, former Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yahaya Miya. Alhaji Bala Hadith, and many stakeholders from Bauchi South Senatorial District.
Senator Shehu Buba, during the visit, commended Governor Zulum and the Borno State Government for their prompt response to the disaster by deploying emergency services to provide relief materials, evacuate affected residents, and restore basic services.
He commended the federal government for its swift response and support; and urged development partners, as well as humanitarian organizations to assist Borno State to mitigate the impact of the flood.
He said Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected victims we with all people of Borno State and pray for the souls of the deceased, and speedy recovery for all those affected by the disaster.
