In what marks a major milestone for grassroots football in Nigeria, five players from Lagos-based non-league side, Tonic Football Club, have officially arrived in Portugal to begin their professional careers with Esmoriz Football Club.
The players — among them the towering goalkeeper Ayuba Oyetola — were accompanied by the club’s General Overseer, Prince Dapo Ajibade, a respected football administrator and Director-General of KIFA (Kids In Football Africa).
Upon arrival, the young talents were given a guided tour of Esmoriz’s facilities and introduced to the club’s management and coaching staff. Prince Ajibade, who also previously served as Executive Director of the Ondo State Football Agency, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome accorded to the team and praised the determination of the players to make Nigeria proud.
“These boys are ready to write their names in gold. Their commitment and passion show they’re hungry for success,” Ajibade said.

He further revealed ongoing plans by his management to organize a new round of football scouting programmes aimed at unearthing more young, homegrown talents to strengthen Nigeria’s football talent pool. For more fresh and factual reports, visit www.krestnews.com
