The Nigeria federal government is to partner Tee-Pama Nigeria Limited for the supply of 85,000 YTO machineries and implements as part of efforts to enhance machanized farming and boost food production in the country.
The Head Procurement and Administration of Tee-Pama Nigeria Limited, Akintunde Akinkumi stated this after a closed-door meeting with officials of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security over the weekend.
Akinkumi explained that as vendors of Chinese YTO Agricultural/construction Machineries, Tee-Pama is ready participate in enhancing the Federal Government initiatives on food security through agricultural revolution.
He said, ” the YTO Group Corporation through Tee-Pama Nigeria Limited was at the Ministry to foster partnership with the government in the area of mechanised Agriculture. YTO Group is an ideal company set to participate in the Agriculture industry and Renewed Hope Agenda in Nigeria through Tee-Pama Nigeria Limited and its partners to supply 85,000 farming and construction machineries/implements”.
He explained that the supply of the machineries would be carried out within two years with back up components and spare parts, adding that the tractors would be distributed to the 774 Local Government Areas in the country with one or two years warranty to the Federal Government.
Report available to Krestnews shows that the Ministry’s Director Mechanization, Engineer Sule Majeed who chaired the meeting said the management of Tee-Pama was invited by the Ministry to further conclude areas of collaboration and partnership
According to the source who pleaded anonymity, ” large numbers of YTO tractors are to be procured by the Federal Government and five states of Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Ebonyi and another are scheduled to benefit from the pilot phase for the implementation of the Agricultural Mechanisation System (AMS).
