The Bauchi State Government has taken a significant step towards improving healthcare services in the state,
Just as the state government Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Ministry of Health on the official handing over of the General Hospital Misau for an upgrade to Federal Medical Centre.
The MOU, signed at the council chamber Government House Bauchi, formalizes the handover of General Hospital Misau to be upgraded into a Federal Medical Center.

Speaking at the event, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate, commended Governor Mohammed for his unwavering support in facilitating the transformation.

Prof. Pate highlighted the numerous benefits that will accompany the upgrade, particularly the provision of improved healthcare services to the people of Bauchi State.

He called on the state government to continue its support to ensure the sustained success of this initiative.
Speaking at the signing of the MoU which held at the Council Chambers, Government House, Bauchi, the Governor said that the giant strides recorded in the health sector of the state was as a result of the partnership of his administration with the federal Ministry of Health.

Governor Mohammed applauded the upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre Azare to a Teaching Hospital, which he said is a welcome development just as he commended the Minister of Health, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate for being a good ambassador of the state by providing a number of health infrastructure to the state since his appointment.

He said that the upgrade of the General Hospital Misau would go along way in assisting the state government to provide efficient healthcare services to the benefiting communities and promised to make good use of the facility in order to achieve the desired objectives.

“The state government would borrow from the programs and initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare under the leadership of Prof. Pate.My administration is guided by a plan, ‘My Bauchi Project,’ which is reviewed from time to time to address noticed gaps
He equally appreciate the Federal Government and the Ministry of Health for their continued interventions in the state’s health sector.

Muhammad reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery and welcomed the benefits the new Federal Medical Center will bring to the region.

Additionally, the Bauchi State Government launched an emergency ambulance service aimed at assisting individuals with urgent health needs, particularly those who are unable to afford healthcare.

The launch of this service is part of the state government’s broader effort to strengthen the health sector and ensure that healthcare is accessible to all.
