The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pateh, has granted approval to the Malikiyyah College of Nursing Services Bauchi to commence training of General Nursing Programme and Midwifery programmes.

According to the proprietor of the college, Alhaji Aminu Muhammad Dan Maliki, the approval was conveyed to the college by the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Faruk Umar Abubakar, via a letter.

The college has been authorized to start with a provisional intake of 100 students for General Nursing, effective November 2024, and 100 students for Midwifery, effective September 2024.

Dan Maliki stated that the approval was granted in accordance with Section 14 (Sub section 182) of the Act 143, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (2004).

The college has also been directed to pay an establishment fee of N3,281,250 into the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s TSA account.

The Malikiyyah College of Nursing Services Bauchi currently offers 20 accredited courses, including Dental Surgery Technician, Medical Laboratory Science, and Environmental Health Technician.

The college has graduated over 3,000 students in medical and environmental sciences, who are now working in various hospitals across the state.

Dan Maliki appealed to the government and philanthropists to support the college by sponsoring more students to address the shortage of manpower in hospitals
