Gov. Sule restates commitment to welfare of ex-service men, families of fallen heroes.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has re-assured of his administration’s commitment to support the Nigeria Legion in the State by prioritizing their welfare.

The Governor gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen during the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in Lafia today.

The Governor explained that his administration would continue to support the Nigeria Legion in her activities in the State.

” Today is a historic day, this is a day we remember our fallen heroes who fought very hard for our freedom and our independence.

” And continue also to fight in other countries in order to defend humanity.

” You have seen a lot has been going on here in the State, the legion has continued to receive our support,” he said

Sule said that he has provided the legion with vehicles and more resources in order to operate efficiently.

“From what you have seen this year, we have already provided them with vehicles and we have provided them with more resources in order to have the legion operating more efficiently,” he said.

It would be reported that the event featured special prayers for the fallen heroes, who fought for the peace, unity and integration of the country.

Also featured during the ceremony was the prayers for the soldiers in the battle field as well as three gun salutes for the fallen.

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt.Hon. Danladi Jatau, the State Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Bashir and the Emir of Lafia justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (Rtd) as well as the State Deputy Governor among other dignitaries attended the event.

In another development, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has today inaugurated the Governing Council of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi with former INEC Chairman Prof. Atahiru Jegga as the Chairman.

The event which took place in Government House Lafia was witnessed by Dr Emmanuel Akabe, the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Justice Aisha Bashir Aliyu, the Chief Judge of the State, SSG, as well as APC Stalwarts led by the Chairman, Hon. Aliyu Bello among others.
