Ahead of the Eide-el Fitri celebration, Commissioner of Police Niger State, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman has ordered the deployment of 2500 police personnel with operational assets for adequate security coverage of the state during the celebrations.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun stated this on Monday in a press statement.
He said, “In view of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, fsi orders massive deployment of over two thousand, five hundred personnel, with operational assets to provide adequate security coverage at all Eid praying grounds in the twenty-five LGAs of the State”.
He explained that the police security coverage also include recreation centers, amusement parks, and other public places including critical infrastructures for public safety towards ensuring a peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr.
According to the PPRO, “Commissioner of Police directs the Department of Operations, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs today April 8th, 2024 during the Command’s management meeting to deploy massively, including operational assets to dominate public places, ensure visibility policing with constant supervision, and embark on confidence-building patrol to all nooks and crannies of the State for a peaceful celebration”.
He said that horse racing within the metropolis will not be tolerated, but only at the designated areas.
He informs officers that an Operation Order for the occasion has been issued for necessary action and guidance.
The Commissioner of Police felicitated with residents of the state, most especially the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, while appreciating members of the public for their support.
He called on parents to warn their wards against any act that could disrupt public peace, as the Police and other security agencies will be firmly on ground to surmount any act that may cause breach of public peace.
