In a bid to ameliorate the current economic hardship among the people in Wamba, the Special Assistant (Markets) to the Governor, Hon Chumbis Moses distributed various items across to four (4) selected communities in Farin Ruwa Development Area of Wamba LGA.

The benefitting communities are those of Arum, Kwarra, Marhai and Mama where over 1000 people were selected as beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries who were carefully selected from the various communities by a committee cut across, youths, women and men of varied ages benefitted from the welfare package.

The items distributed were cash worth over one million, five hundred thousand Naira, 500 pieces of wrappers, ten cartons of Maggi seasoning as well as sets of jerseys to teams that came first, second, and third during the recently concluded football competition held to celebrate the 5th year anniversary of the rulership of Gom Mama on the throne.

The occasion which took place at his country home, Gbanga in Arum, attracted members of the ruling APC in the locality mostly from the benefitting communities.

Speaking in a telephone interview, Mr Moses explained that his effort is driven by the current economic realities and the need to support the weak, aged and the vulnerable in the society as exemplified by what Governor Sule has been doing.

He further reiterated that the gesture was his modest way to support the governor who he said has over the years tried to provide palliatives to the vulnerable in the state, and called for patience, understanding and support for the governor, stressing that soonest the economic pains will ease off.

Hon Chumbis also used the occasion to reassure the people of the Governor’s commitment to improving the lots of the rural dwellers especially in the area of rural road development, schools and healthcare.

He reassured the people that the state and federal governments are working hard to fix the economy and that soon the current hardship will become “once upon a time” thing in Nigeria.

In attendance was the District Head of Arum, His highness, Mr Danladi Gbaja, thanked the Special Assistant. for the kind gesture, saying it will go a long way to cushion the current economic hardship being faced by the people.

While thanking the Governor for find one of them worthy of appointment, appeal for more opportunity for Arum sons and daughters, saying that they are hard working and trust worthy.
