According to him, ” The gesture is aimed at assisting the poor and vulnerable people in our communities during this period in which many people are facing hardship and hunger.

He explained that the Aliko Dangote Foundation has been reaching out to the less privileged people in other critical areas including health sector, education and natural disasters.

Ahmed explained that although the Foundation has been distributing food items to alleviate hunger in the past years, it however decided to use government channels this year for wider outreach, adding that it is purely philanthropy.

In a remark, the State Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, commended the Foundation for the kind intervention and assured that the food item will get to the direct beneficiaries.

He appealed to other individuals and companies to emulate Dangote Industries Limited in providing required interventions to alleviate the current hardships in the state and the country in general.(www.krestnews.com).
