A man 38, Gabriel Iliya Magaji of Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State near Abuja is reported to have committed suicide over alleged infidelity by his wife.
The incident, according to police authorities, occured on Wednesday, September 11, 2024
The State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Nansel Ramhan confirmed the incident and said at about 7am on Monday a report was lodged by a staff of Crystal school Masaja, names that unidentified man was found hanging in one of the classrooms of the school.
According to the PPRO, the report was lodged at the Masaka Division of the Police Command and the men of the division promptly responded by visiting the scene of the incident.
“ On Monday around 7am a report was lodged by a staff of Crystal School Masaka, in our office in Masaka division, that an unidentified man was found hanging in one of the classes, in Crystal school Masaka”
The Police further said “Upon receipt of the complain, the DPO led his men to the scene and untired the corpse and took it to the General Hospital Mararaba, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor, so the corpse was deposited in the morgue.”
The Police spokesman, however, explained that there was no suicide note found on the deceased, as such the Police had commenced investigation into the matter to unravel the cause of his death.
He said the police is yet to ascertain the truth that the man killed himself because his friends are sleeping with the deceased wife as is being alleged.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed report has it that the 38 years old man committed the suicide on Monday, in Masaka, Nasarawa State after he found out that his friends were allegedly having sex with his wife in exchange of money.
Sources closed to the victim who pleaded anonymity alleged that deceased had confronted his wife over the allegation and that the wife had admitted, saying she was doing that because the husband was not bringing food to the table
According to the source, “the victim’s friends often have sex with her and give her money of which she uses to buy food items which even the late husband and their 3 Kids eat” the source alleged.
The wife could not be reached to hear her own version of the story as at the time of writing this report as no one seem to know her whereabout.
