Communities in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State are expressing their joy with the appointment of the immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Chairman, Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State.
Reacting to the appointment, the Executive Chairman Toto LG Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas commended President Tinubu for considering the former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi for the appointment which he described as well deserved considering his vast experience.
“We congratulate him for this well deserved appointment, he is a man of honour, integrity, full of wisdom and experience, this appointment is a plux not only to Toto LG but the State at large, and it is our wish and prayers that this federal government appointment will open the door for more bigger ones and more prosperity “
On his part, the Overseer Umaisha Development Area Iliyasu Miryam described the appointment of Balarabe Abdullahi by President Tinubu as a plux to Nasarawa State and expressed his optimism on his ability to deliver in that capacity and wished him well.
Also Speaking, the Chairman Umaisha Political Central Association UPCA Musa Usman said the people of the area are happy and rejoiced with the former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi over his appointment and urged him to bring his worth of experience into bear praying God to guide him through.
“We celebrate this remarkable achievement and acknowledged his dedication to public service, may this new role at national level open more bigger doors for you”
Recalled that Friday evening the 14th of June, 2024, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the appointments of Governing Councils and boards of federal universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in the country with that of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State has the immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi as Chairman from Nasarawa State.
Other four members of the council for the institution include Abdullahi Hamza from Yobe State, Professor Ebenezer Okinanwo Ondo State, Adaobi Chidera Obioha Imo State and Hon. Mustapha Zurmi Bauchi State.
The Permanent Secretary, General Services, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Nnamdi Mbaeri in a statement in Abuja said that the appointments was given by the President for effective management of Nigerian Tertiary Institutions across the country.
