By Monday Ajegena

The Catholic Bishop of Lafia,, Nasarawa State, Central Nigeria, Bishop David Ajang has called on Christians to embody the virtues of Jesus Christ and foster a sense of community by supporting one another in times of need.

Bishop Ajang made this appeal on Friday during a homily at St. Augustine Quasi Parish, Ombi One, Lafia, as part of his three-day pastoral visit to the parish.

The bishop emphasised the importance of Christians reflecting on their faith and striving to emulate the compassionate and selfless nature of Christ.

He also encouraged the faithful to cultivate a spirit of solidarity and mutual support, particularly during challenging times.

He expressed worry over the attitude of people who are expecting others to be good to them without reciprocating the same gesture toward others.

He advised that people should make efforts and be good to others first before expecting others to be good to them.

Ajang explained that Christians should imbibe true companionship attributes like Jesus Christ and be true friends by supporting each other, especially in difficult times.

The Bishop said the country would be a great and peaceful place for everyone if the citizens strived to be good themselves before expecting goodness from others.
