The Head of Enforcement and Compliance, Benue State Sports Marketing and Lottery Board (BSMLB), Mr. Gadafi Asemanya, has stressed the importance of promoting responsible gaming in the state.
Speaking at a three -day training for BSMLB staff, Mr. Asemanya charged them to work with integrity while discharging their duties with gaming and lottery operators.
According to him, “The BSMLB was established to license, regulate, generate revenue, and ensure responsible gaming in the state and said the staff must work hard to help the board achieve its mandate,” Mr. Asemanya explained.
He commended the Executive Secretary of the Board, Hon. Michael Uper, for his efforts aimed at uplifting the organization in line with Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration policies.
He called on staff and management to work together to take the board to the next level of development.

On his part, Mr. Ode Andrew Achiri, the Accountant of the Board, emphasized the importance of responsible, transparent, and accountable financial management.
According to Mr Ode, “Staff must always be responsible, transparent, and accountable in the discharge of their duties”.

In his remarks, Pastor John Mkaaanem Orahungurga, Head of Administration, expressed appreciation to the facilitators, staff and management for attending the programme, expressing optimism that the knowledge gained would boost the activities of the board.
“We commend the Executive Secretary for providing this opportunity for staff to acquire knowledge and enhance effective performance, and we pray God to uplift our organization”, Pastor Orahungurga said.
