The Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Dr Aishatu Bala Abdukadir Muhammad has announced that three children, who were earlier stolen from their parents in Bauchi State and taken to unknown destination by a strange woman, have been found in Anambra State.
Speaking, the Bauchi First Lady gave the names of the allegedly stolen Children as Sabo Salisu, 3 years old, Isah Abdulkadir, 4 years old, and Nana Khadija Zakariya’u, 6 years old.
She the revelations while addressing the parents of the abducted children in her officein Bauchi.
The occasion had also the Police and members of the Federation of Women Lawyers Association, FIDA Bauchi State Chapter as well as the village head of Gwallameji where the childrenl come from.
.She explained that the children were abducted by a woman who had lived in their neighbourhood, and who used to give incentives to their parents.
Dr Aisha who expressed anger over the development, commended the security agencies for their effort in rescuing the stolen children.
.“We don’t want Bauchi State to be the centre of missing babies and this trend needs to be nipped in the bud. We are going to work hard, I will talk to the Emir of Bauchi, I will also talk to the State House of Assembly, the Ulama and other stakeholders to see how we can end these kind of occurrence.” she said.
The Governor’s wife criticised some parents for being careless and for abandoning their responsibility of raising their children properly and advised the parents to ensure the safety their wards safe always.
She promised to mobilize the Police with all they need to go to Anambra and bring the children back to Bauchi immediately.
The Police Deputy Crime Officer, DCO Yelwa Division, Inspector Nafiu Umar said the children were kidnapped in Gwallameji in Bauchi State but were rescued in Anambra through intelligence network of security operatives in the state.
He said the Woman that abducted the children was a tenant in Gwallameji and she didnt leave anything that will help them to trace her easily. The only thing found in her room was a mat and a bucket, and she paid her rent money cash.
The Village Head of Gwallameji Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim while speaking on the matter said when he received the report about the missing children, he directed the parents to report the incident to the police.
After which they immediately start making more effort to get the abducted children.
The village head said the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO called him to enquire about the picture of two out the three rescued children and it corresponded with the one with the police.
Maryam Habibu, Rashida Hassan and Saratu Isah said they were tenants in the house where the woman stayed for only five days.They said the woman induced their children with gift incentives and the children were playing in their compound when they were takenaway.
The parents expressed gratitude to God for the rescue of their children and prayed to Allah to enable them to see their children again because, they were happy when they discovered that their children were found in Anambra alive. (www.krestnews.com)
