The Pro Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi and Chairman of Council Prof. Attahiru Muhammadu Jega has approved the appointment of Prof. Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University pending the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor.
According to a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the University Bala I Ahmed II states that the appointment takes effect from Tuesday 2nd April 2024.
The statement further adds that as Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Modibbo will cover the office of the Vice-Chancellor and take full responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the University in consultation with the Pro-Chancellor.
Krestnews reports that, the appointment of the acting Vice Chancellor follows the expiration of the tenure of the former Vice Chancellor, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed popularly refered to as “Buffalo Soldier” which took effect from today Tuesday 2nd April 2024.
Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibo was until his current appointment, Professor the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics in the University.
