JUST IN: Police stops Benue APC SEC meeting, take over secretariat
Krestnews reports that the crisis within the All Progress Congress (APC) in Benue may have taken a turn for the worse as anti riot police cordoned off the State secretariat, this Friday, March 1.
According to report as early as 7am, a detachment of Mobile and regular police operatives, including Civil Defence and Livestock Guards took over the gates to the Secretariat as well blocked roads leading to the secretariat.
They used their operational vehicles to block all roads leading to the secretariat.

The Police Command also stopped the State Executive Council Meeting ( SEC) and APC stakeholders meeting by the Comrade Austin Agada-led exco of the party slated for today.
In a letter addressed to the APC chairman Comrade Austin Agada, the Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Adesina declared: ” The State Executive Council meeting and all kinds of political meeting be suspended till further notice.”
The letter signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police ( DCP) Samuel Gimba said the SEC meeting must be suspended based on a directive from Governor Hyacinth Alia suspending all forms of political meetings and gathering in the state.
Krestnews reports that the decision, according to police, is due to volatile security atmosphere in Benue .
