Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has denied the Involvement of his administration in setting up of the Fulani Vigilante Group in the State recently .

The Governor explained that if it was from the State Government, a bill to that effect would have been sent to the State Assembly for consideration and approval first

The Governor made this clarification while playing host to members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau to congratulate him on his victory at the Supreme Court.

The Governor said that his administration would continue to promote peace in the State, stressing that the security agencies are already investigating the issue of the Fulani Vigilante.

” The security agencies are already investigating the issue. we refused to be part of it because it was purely an issue for the security agencies”, he said.

The Governor said that the State Government did not recognized Fulani Vigilante just like any other vigilante groups in the state.

” As far as we are concerned, the Fulani Vigilante just like all other groups that wanted to have group have done that, We have not recognized any one.

“As far as we are concerned, there is only one vigilante group recognized by the Federal Government which we also recognized in the state. We have recognized the community policing,” he said.

The Governor further said ” If anybody should know that the government has recognized any vigilante group, you should know more because that bill should have come to you as lawmakers and you should be the one to pass the bill before we can do that”

According to the Governor, “I am number one peace promoter and I will never encourage insecurity in the state”.

He appreciated the Speaker for being up and doing in uniting members of the House as well as preaching unity and peace among communities across the State.

” Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau is a peace maker. I am happy that Jatau is not only uniting members of the House but has gone far to communities preaching unity, peace and drumming support for the government. I sincerely appreciate your efforts”, the Governor said.

Sule also thanked Honourable members for giving his government all the necessary and needed support to succeed, urging them to monitor closely the activities of the NG-CARES and other projects in the State to ensure that the right things are done as the under their oversight function.

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau said that they were in the Government House to congratulate Governor Sule on his victory at the Supreme Court recently.

” Your Excellency, we are here as a House to congratulate you on your victory at the Supreme Court.

” The victory at the Supreme Court is an affirmation of your victory in March 18th, 2023 general elections.

“Leadership comes from God and so the people of the State must accept the Supreme Court verdict in good faith, ” he said.

The Speaker assured of the House readiness under his leadership to effectively synergize with the Governor for the overall development of the State.

” Your Excellency, we want to assure you of our continuous readiness to give you maximum cooperation and support to succeed.

” The State Assembly is fully with you, we will work together with you and you should always count on us” he said.

The Speaker assured of his continuous determination to unite members of the House and preach the message of unity and peace to various communities in the State.
