A terror attack has been reported in Daffo town of Bokkos LGA, Plateau State.

Daffo which islocated 45 miles south of Jos, the capital of Plateau State in central Nigeria,

According report by TruthNigeria says at least two people have been confirmed dead, with fears that the death toll may rise to six or more.

The report adds that the attack began at 7 pm local time on Tuesday, September 3, in a commercial area west of the town, known as Congo, which is said to be just some 300 yards from a military base, the report quoted a local resident as saying.

The attack according to the local resident, who spoke to TruthNigeria, lasted for at least two hours. 

Armed men believed to be Fulani militants launched the attack, targeting civilians in the market area, said one Zakka Akos, a former Chairman who is from the town. 

A contingent of soldiers arrived at the scene at 9:30 pm to repel the attack, but the extent of their response is unclear, Akos said the report further say.

“I hear two people have been confirmed killed but I am still trying to reach those in the town because I hear there could be more,” Akos said. 

Other residents speak of multiple fatalities, including a family of seven. “They have killed my brothers again,” said a distraught Ms. Abigail Machief, who lost her younger brother in a similar attack last year. “All my brothers and nephews, all killed.”

The authorities have yet to respond to queries from reporters. The situation is developing, and more information will be provided as it becomes available
