About 26 residents of Borno state, North Eastern Nigeria perished in the early hours of Monday, 28 April, 2025 at about 11am while traveling from Kala Balge to Gamboru Ngala council area of the state.

Krestnews reliably gathered that the I’ll fated vehicle while moving from Rann to Ngala, drove over some deadly Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) particularly along Furunduma community, which is about 11kms away from Rann the headquarters of Kala Balge LGA

Upon impact, our source alleged that hell was let loose leading to the death of 26 Individuals on the spot with three others sustaining massive Injuries.

For immediate treatment, one of the injured commuters was moved to Gamboru Ngala, while the other two were ferried to the General Hospital Rann, and they are currently receiving medical attention.

Out of the 26 killed, 16 were men while four were women. Children who perished in the explosion were six.

After years of degradation of the insurgents, many residents had gone back to their normal lives hoping that things have changed for good and the gains will be increased with the capture of three council areas including the Timbuktu triangle where they are pinned down permanently.

However, recently a couple of deradicalised insurgents who were camped in the hajj camp escaped back to the bush as confirmed by the commissioner of internal security Prof. Usman Tar.

Intel sources however hinted that it was after that sad tragedy of the escape occurred that this recent sudden upsurge started rearing its head in the Hadin Kai theatre reversing some of the vital gains of the theatre in the last 15 years.

“Some of these so called repentants were given too much freedom. Some could leave the hajj camp and go to do whatever they wanted and report same to their friends in the bush. We spoke to their wards and wives and we knew what we heard.

” Subsequently, we knew mistakes were being made in the way this repentants were handled but they had their own plans. There was no way we could force them to accept our suggestions or even how to handle them” said our source. (www.krestnews.com).
