The residents of Nasarawa State have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Aliko Dangote Foundation for its generous donation of 30,000 bags of 10kg rice to vulnerable groups in the state.
The residents, including some beneficiaries, gave their appreciation at different interviews on Friday in Lafia.
Talatu Audu, a beneficiary from Lafia, appreciated the foundation for its kindness, which she said would alleviate the suffering of her family and others.
“This donation is a godsend, especially during this fasting period,” she said.
Sarah Monday from Akwanga LGA expressed gratitude to the foundation and the state government for the donation.
She said that the donation would make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable residents some of which find it difficult to feed.
On his part, Hassan Abdullahi from Keffi LGA said that they were grateful to the foundation for the timely donation to ease their hardship.
“The rice will help us feed our families during this challenging period and the Almighty God will bless the donor,” he added.
Rebecca Emmanuel from Nassarawa-Egggon LGA said that the donation was a blessing to them during this fasting as well as lent periods.
She said this is not the first time that the foundation has shown this kind of kindness and generosity towards the poor.
She, therefore, appealed to corporate organizations and spirited individuals to emulate the gesture to tackle hunger and poverty in the country.
Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State on Tuesday, March 18, launched the distribution of 30,000 bags of 10kg rice donated by Aliko Dangote to vulnerable groups in the state.
The governor at the event said that the rice was shared equally among the vulnerable people in the 13 LGAs of the state.
Also, Abdullahi Rilwan, General Manager Community Relations at Dangote company who spoke during the launch of the distribution, said the initiative was part of Dangote’s philanthropic efforts to support those in need.
He added that the Aliko Dangote Foundation is also replicating the same gesture to other states of the federation. (www.krestnews.com).
