The Bauchi State Police Command has recorded another major success in its ongoing fight against crime, following the arrest of two suspected armed robbers and the recovery of firearms in Azare town, Katagum Local Government Area.

The breakthrough came in the early hours of October 25, 2025, when a distress call from Adamu Abdullahi of Gandum Wambai area, Azare, alerted officers to a robbery incident at his business premises, GKY Food and Oil Mills. The robbers reportedly carted away a motorcycle during the operation.
Acting swiftly, operatives from the Azare Police Division, working in collaboration with local vigilantes, pursued and intercepted the suspects at Lafiya village, along the Lafiya–Gwasame road.
The arrested suspects — Hassan Babangida and Abdullahi Hussaini, both residents of Hanafari village, Jama’are LGA — were found in possession of two locally made guns and a Bajaj motorcycle believed to have been stolen.
Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the professionalism and quick response of the operatives and the vigilance of the local security network. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring peace and security across Bauchi State.
