Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has relieved the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, of his duties.
The decision was announced in a brief two-paragraph statement issued in the early hours of Monday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, and made available to journalists.
According to the statement, Governor Mohammed approved what was described as a “minor change” in the composition of the State Executive Council, resulting in the immediate removal of the Commissioner from office.
Explaining the move, the Special Adviser noted that the decision underscores the administration’s resolve to periodically refresh the cabinet in order to inject new ideas, strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programmes across the state.
Governor Mohammed expressed appreciation to Hon. Galadima for his service to Bauchi State and wished him well in his future endeavours. He also reassured residents of the state of his administration’s unwavering commitment to peace, security, and good governance.
Meanwhile, reports from across Bauchi indicate that many residents have welcomed the development, citing dissatisfaction with the performance of the former Commissioner in handling security-related matters.
