Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has transmitted the names of 30 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, in line with Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, the nominations were made after extensive consultations and were based on merit, integrity, and proven commitment to the development of Niger State.
Governor Bago reaffirmed that the selection aligns with his administration’s drive for inclusiveness, competence, and the consolidation of the New Niger Agenda through effective governance and service delivery across all sectors.
The nominees, who are drawn from all 25 local government areas, will also undergo the necessary security screening and clearance processes.
The Governor congratulated the nominees, urging them to remain steadfast in their dedication to transforming Niger State into a model of sustainable growth and responsible governance.
Nominees include:
Muhammad Qasim Danjuma (Agaie), Barr. Mohammed Bello Agwara (Agwara), Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed (Bida), Sulaiman Umar (Bida), Dr. Murtala Bagana (Bida), Abdulrazaq Muazu Jakada (Borgu), Umar Rabe Sanda (Bosso), Ladidi Bawa Bosso (Bosso), Barr. Nasiru Muazu (Chanchaga), and Faruk Umar Audi (Chanchaga).
Others are Jacob Baba Yisa (Edati), Abdullahi Adamu Mamagi (Gbako), Haruna Abubakar Magaji (Gurara), Adamu Abdullahi Sheshi (Katcha), Lawal Maikano (Kontagora), Phalal Mohammed Bako (Kontagora), Muazu Hamidu Jantabo (Lapai), Mustapha Ndajiwo (Lavun), Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Auna (Magama), and Kabiru Abbas (Mariga).
Also on the list are Abubakar Umar Abule (Mashegu), Aminu Suleiman Takuma (Mokwa), Barr. Maurice Magaji (Munya), Abubakar Musa Abule (Paikoro), Ahmed Ibrahim Inga (Rafi), Isah Sidi Rijau (Rijau), Hadiza Idris Kuta (Shiroro), Abdullahi Maje (Suleja), Obed Nana (Tafa), and Bashir Mohammed Lokogoma (Wushishi).
