The Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has resumed duty after a one month leave abroad appreciating citizens for their understanding while he was away.

The Governor stated this in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim in Minna Thursday evening.

The Farmer Governor specifically commended his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba for the active, passionate and resilient manner he steered the ship of leadership as the Acting Governor.

He said, ” the leave period has afforded me the opportunity to reflect and evaluate the impact of our administration’s policies and programmes with the view to improving on them for better service delivery to the people”.

He also applauded Members of the State Executive Council, the leadership, and Members of the Legislature, the Judiciary, Traditional and Religious leaders as well as the Heads of Security Agencies in the State for their overwhelming support and contributions which he explained facilitated the smooth running of governance while he was away.

He commended the Media organisations and all practicing Journalists in the State for their role in promoting the growth and development of Niger State.

He said, ” I reaffirms my commitment to serving the people diligently and with more vigor to achieve the New Niger Agenda”.

Krestnews reports that Governor had gone on one month leave after the State Assembly approved his request to transmit the powers of his office to his Deputy, to act as Governor.
