The State Executive Committee (SEC) members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State says that the emergence of Alh Aliyu Bello as its Chairman saying it followed due process and the constitution of thier party.
Mr Yairus Dagusa, APC Secretary who spoke on behalf of SEC of the party, stated this to newsmen after their meeting on Monday in Lafia.
Dagusa explained that contrary to the misinformation being peddled in the social media, the emergence of Bello as Chairman of the party was in line with the electoral act and the party’s constitution.
“Bello was made the Chairman by the State Executive Committee at a meeting held on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023 as a replacement for the then Chairman, John Mamman who was appointed Commissioner by Gov. Abdullahi Sule.
The APC scribe on behalf of the SEC of the party passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman based on his leadership style since emergence in 2023.
He added that the state’s leadership of the party has no intention to support a member of a different political party for governorship in 2027 as alleged.
The secretary called on APC members, and teeming supporters to be wary of the antics of some elements who want to bring the party to ridicule.
The party also declared their unalloyed support to Gov. Abdullahi Sule-led administration for the good work he is doing in the state.
He explained that with what the governor is doing in transforming the state, APC would retain power beyond 2027 and even clear more seats of National as well as State House of Assembly in the state.
Meanwhile, earlier, during the meeting, Mr Mutari Samson, APC Chairman of Karu Local Government Area (LGA) moved a motion for a vote of confidence on the State Chairman and was seconded by Zanuwa Buba, APC Secretary of Lafia LGA.
