Operatives from the the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command, have announced the arrest of one Samaila Wakili Fata aka Habu Ibrahim, a kidnap kingpin who has been on the wanted list of the command for a long time.
According to the police, acting on credible intelligence, said the operatives stormed Sardauna Forest, in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State and arrested Ibrahim on February 24, around 7:05pm.
Habu Ibrahim, the police said, was the second person and the gang leader who is one of the most wanted suspects of the kidnapping syndicate paraded by the police command recently.
Krestnews recalls that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, had previously announced a N20 million bounty on two criminals terrorizing residents of the territory, dead or alive.
According to the police one Saidu Abdulkadir popularly known as Dahiru Adamu was the first kidnap kingpin on the wanted list who was arrested by the police command.
The bounty was in response to the Police Commissioner’s remarks that two other criminals were still on the run, adding that the police were on their trail.
A statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh said:
“The operatives of the FCT Police Command, in a continued effort against banditry in FCT and its environs, on February 24, 2024 at about 7:05pm, acting on credible intelligence, stormed Sardauna Forest, Toto, Nasarawa State and arrested one Samaila Wakili Fafa A.K.A Habu Ibrahim, a kidnap kingpin who has been on the wanted list of the Command for a long time and bounty placed on his head by the Hon. Minister.
“The suspect is one of the two kidnappers the Honorable Minister FCT placed a bounty on, as the other one namely Saidu Abdulkadir A.K.A Dahiru Adamu, had earlier been arrested by the Command.”
The police statement also revealed that Ibrahim confessed that his syndicate masterminded and executed several kidnappings in FCT and its environs, including the abduction of Barr. Chris Agidy, the legal aid to Senator Ned Nwoko and Mr Sunday Yahaya Zakwai, the District Head of Ketti Village who were later killed by them.
Samaila Wakili further led police operatives to where the remains of Barr. Chris Agidy was and recovered and deposited at the Gwagwalada General Hospital.
