The Chairman Nasarawa State Football Association, Salisu Usman Galadima has has reacted on the performances of the African Teams at the ongoing AFCON Football Competition in Cote D’Ivoire there no longer minor teams in African football.

The State FA Chairman stated this while reacting to Nigeria Super Eagle’s match with Guinea Bissau where Nigeria defeated Guinea Bissau one nil to book a place in the second round of the competition

He said the Super Eagles though in not too impressive manner however secured the maximum 3 points after Opa Sangante of Guinea Bissau puts the ball into his net after Simon Moses of Nigeria sent in a cross in the 36th minutes.

“Football has vastly improved in Africa as we all can see that there are no longer minors, Salisu spoke from Abidjan

“Who would have believed that teams like Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana would not qualify for the knockout rounds; who would have given teams like Equatorial Guinea and Cape Verde the chance of topping their respective groups?” he asked..

“It is definitely a difficult tournament but Nigerians can begin to dream again as we’ve shown the world that yes, we are one of the best teams on the continent, the soft spoken administrator concluded”.

Nigeria will have to wait till the completion of the group stage to know their next opponent as they are expected to face the runners up in Group C.
