The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, has appointed Mallam Raji Shehu Adam as the new State Project Coordinator of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landcapes (ACReSAL).

This followed the retirement of the outgoing Project Cordinator, Usman Garba Ibeto after 35 years in service

Speaking at a brief ceremony to usher in the new Project Coordinator on Wednesday, the state commissioner of Enviroment and Climate Change, Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Kolo expressed the determination of government to partner with development agencies for the benefit of the people.

He said that ACReSAL a World Bank Assisted Project is a veritable tool for the implementation of the Green initiative and reclaiming of degraded lands for productive activities in the state.

He promised that the ministry will give all necessary support to the new Project Coordinator towards successful implementation of the green economy policy of government.

He said, ” I therefore appeal to the staff of the Agency to support and Cooperate with the New leadership to achieve desired results.”.

In a remark, the new project coordinator, Mallam Raji Shehu Adam said Niger State is presently leading in terms of project implementation by ACRESAL especially in the restoration of degraded lands in the country, a feat he said must be maintained.

He said, ” I am confident that with needed support and cooperation from government, ACReSAL is poised to surpass the existing records of achievements
