Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has promised that the 2026 National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) in the state will be a grander and more vibrant spectacle, showcasing the full beauty and diversity of Nasarawa’s cultural heritage.

Governor Sule made the declaration during the ceremonial procession and opening of NAFEST 2025 in Lafia, where the state’s Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism (MICT) contingent staged a dazzling cultural display from the city entrance to Lafia Square.

This is indeed a beautiful display of our culture in Nasarawa State,” the Governor said. “By the grace of God, next year, we will invite more people to come and appreciate the kind of culture we have. We will plan it better so that our traditional rulers, investors, and guests from across the country can experience the rich traditions that define our people.”

Governor Sule revealed that the 2026 edition will attract a larger audience of traditional rulers, investors, and cultural enthusiasts from across Nigeria and beyond, transforming NAFEST into a world-class “cultural Olympics.”

He praised the state’s MICT leadership, led by Dr. Ibrahim Tanko, Barr. Yusuf Musa, and directors of various departments, for their dedication in making the event a success.

“I thank you sincerely for making this possible,” he said. “On behalf of the Nasarawa State Government, we are giving ₦10 million to be shared among participants who travelled long distances to be here. May God continue to keep us united as one people in Nasarawa State.”
