By Alfred Akwe

President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a letter to the Senate seeking the confirmation of Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This is contained in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Tuesday.

Dr Doro’s nomination follows Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda’s election as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Yilwatda previously served as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr Doro brings over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both the UK and Nigeria.

He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA focusing on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.

An Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Dr Doro has worked extensively with the National Health Service (NHS) in frontline healthcare delivery across urgent care, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospital settings.

Beyond his professional career, he has been deeply involved in youth mentorship and social impact initiatives within the diaspora and local communities.
