Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state has described the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume as a quintessential leader who has tremendously contributed to the deepening of the nation’s Democracy and nation-building.
Governor Bago satated this in a felicitation message to celebrate the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Sen. George Akume on his 71st birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued hy his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described the celebrant as an extraordinary administrator.
“The SGF tremendously contributed to deepening Democracy and nation-building when he served and rose to the pinnacle of his career in the Federal Civil Service,and became Governor of Benue State for 8 years”, he said.
The Governor explained that the celebrant also served as a Senator from 2007 to 2019, and thereafter became a Minister of the Federal Republic between 2019 and 2023 from where he was appointed as the SGF.
He said, “the track record of the Septuagenarian is outstanding, reflecting the administrative competence, intellectual capacity, dedication, and commitment of the former lawmaker to enhancing the development of the nation”
Governor Bago prayed for more years in sound health for him to continue to serve humanity.
