The Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has says though the challenges facing Nigeria at 64 years of independence are enormous, they surmountable; assuring that there would be light at the end of the tunnel.
The Governor stated this in a statement issued in Minna on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim to mark the 64th Independence Day anniversary.
“The challenges may be enormous, they are however surmountable, and there would be light at the end of the tunnel by the grace of God”.
He acknowledged the prevailing harsh economy, orchestrated by several factors, and encouraged the people to strengthen their faith in God, adding that, “government at all levels are making frantic efforts to ameliorate the sufferings and stabilise the economy”.
The Governor said the nation is indeed going through a difficult time at the moment and urged Nigerians to deepen their prayers for the peace and prosperity of the country.
He therefore enjoined Nigerians not to focus on the negatives alone, but to reflect on God’s mercies, favours and be thankful to Him for keeping the country as one entity despite the challenges.
He said, “While I congratulate Nigerians on the 64th anniversary of nationhood, I also appeal to all to remain resolute, law-abiding, passionate and supportive to government at all levels in the task of nation-building which is a collective one”.
He further reassured the people of Niger state that his administration is determined and working tirelessly to ensure lives and livelihoods are secured, adding that the New Niger agenda is achieved to the benefit of all.
