Haj. Silifat Sule, wife of Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has distributed food stuff aid to more than 2, 200 vulnerable persons in Toto Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State.
The food stuff which was made up of rice, millet and maize was distributed by Silifat Abdullahi Sule under auspices of the Hope Foundation in collaboration with Aliko Dangote Foundation.
Speaking at the distribution on Monday in Toto LGA, Sule’s wife said that the gesture was her modest contributions towards ensuring a better living conditions for the people, especially the vulnerable.
The Nasarawa State governor’s wife used the occasion and called on women to bear with their husbands, especially at this time that the economic is not friendly.
She said that women should ensure proper upbringing of their children especially the girl-child considering the high rate of indecency in the society.
She urged wives to always support their spouses in meeting the needs of their families as one person alone cannot address the needs of the entire family.
Also speaking, Margret Elayo, Commissioner for Special Duties, Humanitarian and Non-Governmental-Organisations (NGOs) said Dangote Foundation provided rice and Silifat Foundation provided millet and maize to the beneficiaries in Toto.
The Humanitarian Commissioner also said that the welfare of the people was the topmost priority of the Gov. Sule’s-led administration and promised to always cater for them to tackle the hardship they were facing.
Barr. Labaran Magaji, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, appreciated the governor’s wife and Dangote for the gesture.
The Commissioner who is from Toto also, expressed gratitude to the governor for the security measures put in place to safeguard lives and property of the people in the area. (NAN).
