Elected to represent his zone, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has spread his political tentacles beyond his assigned and designated area.
Nasarawa senatorial zone comprising Karu, Keffi, Kokona, Nasarawa and Toto LGs are by proximity to the seat of power and the Nigeria capital have a population of over one million people and continue to witness daily influx of others who are either interested in doing businesses in the state or preferred to settle as residents working at Abuja.
It is in this respect that since his election in 2023, senator wadada viewed legislation to be far beyond lawmaking,but took a conscious step towards the development of his constituency.
It would be recalled that senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada is not kindergarten politician and not a norvies in the National Assembly. He was a two term elected House of Representatives member and the first to be elected chairman of Nigeria Capital Market between 3003 to 2011.
In a recent interview with journalists at his Gudu district resident, he revealed that his then committee on capital market laid the foundation of what is being enjoyed today owing to how he projected the Nigeria capital market politically within and outside the shores of Nigeria.
He added that after making a make at that realm of the chairing the committee,he then thought of doing something more differently ” Which I initiated the under 40s house of representatives members and I was the coordinator”Wadada said.
Today Senator Wadadais the Senate chairman on public account elected in 2023 , representing Nasarawa West Senatorial zone, he again stroked a difference like he has always yearn for. Within his first 100 days in the red chamber, he bankrolled and distributed food items worth about Fifty Million Naira , empowered over 200 women and youths across the senatorial district, donated medical equipments to primary health clinic as will as general hospitals.
Senator wadada in his unstoppable drives to bring dividend of democracy to his people donated six vehicles to student unions of the six existing tertiary institutions across he state this included Federal University Lafia , Federal Polythenic Nasarawa, Nasarawa State University Keffi, College of Education Akwanga, College of Agriculture Science and Technology Lafia and Isah Mustapha Agwai Polythenic Lafia. This is aside offers of scholarships and employment opportunities he has granted in just one-year as senator.
Sunday Micheal a resident of Karu local government area posited that the impact of senator Wadada as senator representing nasarawa west are immeasurable, especially in youth empowerment which he has done well ,in that regards and as one who has been monitoring the political antecedents and pedigree of senator wadada, he is a leader to be emulated
He added that the recent bills sponsored by the senator are all for the benefits of not just members of the Nasarawa west constituents but for the state and the country at large” We belief in hon,please we trust he will take the state higher from where it is at the moment if elected as governor come 2027″ Sunday submits.
A pundit though said he is not from Nasarawa state but by residency, he has stayed in various local government area of the state since 2012, as such he can compare governance pattern from who has governed as governor, as senator and house of representatives down to some local government areas.
” But if truth most be told, wadada for one I will say he is very patient, in the sense that he is not in hurry to be become the best,haing suffered so many hurdles, when he admired for senate I think sometime in 2015,he won, but was asked to withdraw .on the second time he veyed to be governor, in 2018 that was another period I knew that senator wadada is indeed a politician that plays within the confines of the tenant of democracy .
” To me, senator Wadada deserve to be supported by the incumbent governor of Nasarawa State, as his successor, like senator Almakura supported him. Which is for no reason but continuity. So I feel with the germine infrastructure on ground Nasarawa need an improvement on it and Senator Wadada could just be the right person for that ” He posited.
Part of the stride of senator wadada which stand him out amongst those warming up to succeed governor Abdullahi Sule is his continues relationship with his people, extending help to distressed persons who were affected by flood in the state, and how he is sustaining children in orphanages spread in karu and other parts of the sate. These are areas his contemporaries gives less attention to.
Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada surely is a gift and a political leader Nasarawa State citizens should cue behind him for better distribution of dividend of democracy.
