Two persons have reported to have been killed in a clash between gang members in in a street fight in Maitumbi area of Minna, Niger state.

Six other people are also reported to have been arrested by the police in respect of the incident which they have confirmed.

It was learnt that restiveness youths belonging to different gangs engaged in bloody rivalry war at about 8pm at the weekend using cutlasses, bottles and other dangerous weapons.

Witness account said that properties including cars, motorcycles, tricycles, shops among others were destroyed by ravaging youths

It was further learnt that the hoodlums engaged in vandalism and looting of people properties snatching phones, money and other valuable from their victims.

One of the victims, Mrs Alofetekun who spoke with journalists explained that she was in Maitumbi uphill for special prayers session when she was attacked and her her car completely destroyed by the hoodlums.

The Niger state police command Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun told journalists in Minna that, “two persons were killed and 6 suspects arrested in connection with the incident”, adding that efforts are on to apprehend other suspects.
