The ruling All Progressives Congress APC in Ondo State is reported to have raked in about N720 million from the sales of forms for the forthcoming gubernatorial primary exercise for the party.
Meanwhile the party has announced it’s decision to adopt the direct method of voting for its Ondo state Gubernatorial Primary Election scheduled for April 20.
Krestnews reports that at the close of work on Wednesday which was the deadline for the purchase of the forms, no fewer than 16 aspirants picked the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms ahead of the April 20 party’s primary election.
According to the report 14 male aspirants picked the forms for N50 million each while two female contenders paid N10 million each for the expression of interest form, following the decision of the party to grants some concessions to female aspirants and persons with disabilities who were exempted from paying the N40 million fee for nomination forms.
On the mode of the primary, it was gathered that the Dr Abdullahi Ganduje-led National Working Committee NWC had written to notify the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC of the decision of the party to adopt direct primary.
